How long does initial setup take?
5–7 days for a typical store. Larger stores (5,000+ products) may take up to 10 days.
Will my customers see French automatically?
Yes — we recommend setting up Shopify Markets to serve French to Quebec IP addresses by default. We help configure this if needed.
What's actually covered in the subscription?
Your full Shopify store content: products, collections, pages, policies, navigation, blog content, and Shopify-native transactional emails.
What's NOT covered?
Third-party app content like Klaviyo email flows, Gorgias chat widgets, Yotpo reviews, and similar. These are available as add-ons. We're transparent about this so you can plan accordingly.
What if I get an OQLF complaint while I'm a customer?
For Standard and Full Compliance clients, we provide an OQLF complaint response package. We help you draft a response and remediate any cited content. We are not lawyers and recommend engaging Quebec legal counsel for the formal response.
Do I need to be Quebec-based?
No. Most of our clients are Ontario or BC-based, with some US clients. Bill 96 applies to anyone selling to Quebec consumers, regardless of business location.
How is your French different from Google Translate?
We use Claude (the most advanced AI model from Anthropic) with a Quebec-French glossary developed specifically for OQLF compliance. Generic tools produce Parisian French — terms like "e-mail" instead of "courriel", "shopping" instead of "magasinage". Quebec consumers and the OQLF specifically look for these distinctions.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel through your customer portal at any time. Your service continues through the end of the current billing period. We don't lock you in.
How do you protect my data?
Your Shopify content is processed only for translation. We never store customer or order data. Full details in our Data Processing Agreement.
